QUOLKE’S CORNER #37
NEGOTIATIONS SURVEY/MATH & LITERACY COACHES
Last week our first negotiations email was sent to all members (if the CTU has your personal email address). Also included in that update was a link to our Negotiations Survey. Nearly 1000 members have completed the survey. Although that sounds like a lot, it is only one fifth of our membership and I would like this survey to be as inclusive of all members thoughts as possible. The only way to access the survey is through the link in the email. This survey is not and will not be available online at the CTU website. If you did not get the Negotiations Update email or changed your email address please email Michele Pomerantz at mpomerantz@ctu279.org with your personal email address, it cannot be your CMSD address. All surveys must be completed by August 12, 2009 and I thank you for taking your time to respond to the survey.
Remember, after this week’s paycheck there will be a 3 week gap in paychecks.
The District has received an increase in funds for Math and Literacy Coaches. The District has the ability to hire 37 more Math Coaches and 37 more Literacy Coaches; this is in addition to all of the current Math and Literacy Coaches. If you are interested in applying, the posting is on the CMSD website and you must apply by Friday, August 7.
Yesterday was the Voluntary Transfer Fair and the initial response has been overwhelmingly positive. Anyone who participated and was chosen at a new school will be notified via CMSD email. The notification process began today and will continue tomorrow. I will have a full update on the Voluntary Fair and Necessary Transfers Thursday or Friday.

In Union,
David
